Aside from bacterial infections, one can develop viral infections that are spread by other people.

Transmission:

These infections are often airborne, spreading by close proximity between people. Preventative measures include social distancing and wearing a Surgical mask. Diving gear will also work. Masks should be worn by both infected and healthy individuals.

Process:

Viral infections work on a similar system to bacterial infections, with viral antibodies building up in response to an infection. Once the antibody level builds up high enough, the viral level will go down, albeit very slowly.

Treatment:

Treatment for viral infections differs from bacterial ones in that they only work effectively when used as early as possible. By using treatment early, the duration of an infection will be shortened and severity reduced. There are also different medications that will alleviate symptoms of viral infections. However, they do not directly treat the infection.

Diagnosing:

Diagnosing viral infections requires a Sampler tool and Viral transport medium. Collect a sample anywhere on the health interface and use it in a Sample analyzer, just like a bacterial infection.
