Streptococcal Infection

Description:

Caused by gram-positive bacteria from the genus streptococcus. These germs were first brought over by Earthling colonizers during the colonization of Europa. Streptococcal infections are quite common (4 in 17 cases).

Pus is usually yellowish in presentation.

Caused By:

• Infected wounds that develop into a limb infection

Effects:

• Blood infection (>50%)
• Inflammation (>0%)
• Purulent drainage (>25% with wound)
• Abscess (>25% without wound)
• Pneumonia (Blood infection >0%)

Treatments:

Susceptible to:

• Vancomycin (95% effective)
• Augmentin (93.8% effective)
• Unasyn (90% effective)
• Primaxin (80% effective)
• Broad spectrum antibiotics (75% effective)
• Co trimoxazole (66.7% effective)
• Ceftazidime (20% effective)
